With this opinion, I want to speak about the town in which I live, called Gallarate, in province of Varese, near to Milan Malpensa international airport. The Varese province is located in the North West of Italy, in Lombardy, the most populated of Italian Region and well known in the world for its more important city: Milan.
The Varese province, confine with the Switzerland and includes several small beautiful lakes (Varese, Comabbio, Monate, Ghirla) and border, Lake Maggiore and lugano Lake (Switzerland). Apart from the provincial capital, Varese, famous for her public gardens (called "Estensi"), there are several medium and small size towns in this province, all densely populated and with thousand years of history, as Gallarate, Busto Arsizio, Castellanza, Tradate, Angera and Olgiate Olona.
I live in Gallarate, 80.000 inhabitants, located at 10 miles south of Varese and 15 miles north west of Milan. The town is of roman origin, called "Gallorum arx" (from which the present name of Gallarate) and during medieval period was a important town of the "Seprio Contado". At present, Gallarate is a town very important for her industries (the more important is "Augsta Helicopter Company") and her commercial activities. Gallarate hosts the new Milan International Airport "Malpensa 2000", the number two airport in Italy and, at present, number six in Europe.
