I do love this theatre, and since I've only been once so far, that's a good recommendation. The play I saw was 'This is our Youth' by Kenneth Lonnergan and it was on a few weeks ago. The cast was Matt Damon, Casey Affleck and Summer Phoenix. The play was average, and now for the theatre...
LOCATION
A very short walk from Leicester Square tube station and easily accessable by cabs; it's near TrafalgarSquare, kind of hidden from the 'main drag'.
ON ENTERING
The security is not very good! Your ticket is taken and you go forward into a cosy room where you can buy drinks and so on (all overpriced, but that's normal for London). The area is lit very well and there are some seats. This same area is used during the intermission, if that's the right term.
SEATING
Very good, and comfortable seats, a bit low, but lots of leg room (I am quite tall). Clean, but a bit creaky if you fidget too much, I could see that easily becoming a problem.
TOILETS
Men's toilets were clean and decent and easily, yet oddly, located on the side of the stairs leading to the stage.
THE STAGE
Big enough, and sound effects (of passing trains) were very effective surrounding the entire audience.
IN ALL
Unpretentious and very nice, well worth visiting.
