+++++++Intro+++++++++
This is a review of the Garth Hotel in Gower St London. I have noticed that offers for other Garth Hotels pop up around this review, so be careful which one you are looking at. Its a large 5 story terraced house currently used as a Hotel. There are a lot of steep stairs and no facilities for disabled people that I could see.

+++++++++Location++++++++++
The first thing to say about the Garth Hotel in Gower St is that the location is brilliant. Especially if you want to go to the British Museum, Tottenham Court Road or Oxford St. Its also very handy for Euston Station which is only a five minute walk away.

++++Common Areas++++
It is a budget hotel and has to be judged as such. As you enter through the front door you realise the walls are lined with interesting prints, a theme continued throughout the hotel. The only common room in the hotel is the dining room - no lounge or bar. The dining room is in the basement and is a simple room with typical formica tables suitable for 2 -4 people each, all placed quite close together.

+++++Parking+++++++
None - Go by public transport!

++++Guest Rooms++++++
There are 17 rooms. The room we had was a triple room - with en suite. This meant we had a double and a small single bed. The beds were comfortable which I guess is the most important thing. The en-suite consisted of a very small shower room with shower, tiny sink, and toilet. My main problem with the room was that is was very grubby. The lamp fitting in the centre was one of those paper globes - it was full of dust and spider webs and very greasy. There were lots of cob webs everywhere above head hight and the shower room was a bit smelly and greasy.

++++Noise+++
We were on the top floor and there was some traffic noise with the window open but that is what I expect in London.

++++Dining+++++
The tariff includes breakfast and no other meals are offered. The dining room is in the basement, service was quick and efficient, starting with cereal/fruit juice then traditional English fried breakfast. There didn't seem to be a lot of choice, but it was hot and tasty. Lots of toast also available. One morning we were served tea made with cold water, but I think this was just a simple mistake, and it was quickly corrected when we mentioned it.

++++++Web site+++++++
They have an interesting web site at http://www.garthhotel-london.com/
which seems pretty accurate. There is an interesting page on the history of the house. The only bit I would disagree with is the use of the word clean.

+++Prices+++++
We paid £99 per night for a triple room including breakfast which is great for Central London. They were happy to take a telephone booking in return for a credit card number. Details of the prices are on the web site.

+++Summary++++
Overall it was a nice, friendly, small hotel and if they cleaned it up I would be happy to go back again. Otherwise I will not be going back! There are lots of other hotels in the same road which might be worth considering.
