Advantages: Plenty of bars & restauarants Disadvantages: Not guarenteed snow
Just returned from a week in ZellAmSee. (March 2007)
Unfortunately there was not enough snow for us to ski in the resort all week. However, the nearby glacier resort of Kaprun is only 25 minutes away by bus and the lift pass covers both areas.
Plenty of bars and restaurants and not all overun with tourists. If you're prepared to explore and try a few out, you can find some real gems.
Good looking town so make sure you take your camera.
COSTS March 2007
tea/coffee 2-3 euros
Soft drinks and beer between 2 and 4 euros.
Ski pass 179 euros for 6 days
Ski hire (used my own boots) 63 euros for 6 days
2 hours private ski lesson 90 euros
Lots of sportswear shops in case you forget anything. ...
