Gaviotas, Alcudia

Advantages: Beautiful beaches, resorts for all ages!
Disadvantages: Can't think of any!

...What can I say! Mallorca has many beautiful resorts that cater for all different tastes and age groups. We have two children aged 7 and 14 and have always found Alcudia to be the best to suit their needs as well as ours. Alcudia is North of the Island and stretches along a long coastal road. At one end is the busy Port of Alcudia (the main area) and the other end of the road (about 3-4 stops on the local bus) is the area known as Playa de Muro or Las Gaviotas. The first time we went to Alcudia we stayed in the busy Port area where all the action is. We stayed at the Lagoon Centre apartments which were clean and really nice. Friendly staff. Our children were aged 2 and 9 at the time and although there wasn't that much for a 2 year old there was plenty for the 9 year old. There are numerous bars in the Port area and it can... Advantages: Nice to get away

...Location: I went on an Airtours holiday recently with my family, sister her hubby and little un. We were going to Alcudia Mallorca. We'd booked in some apartments 80 metres from the sea for convenience. It had ben a long year and we deserved this holiday. En Route: We set off from Manchester in a A320 airbus. It was an evening flight (not our first choice) but by our reckoning we would still be at the apartments by around 11-12 ish. The flight itself was fine although there was an hour delay. So there we were at 11 o'clock at the airport the other side waiting for our call for the bus to Las Gaviotas. The call didnt come, so after some enquiries, we were still waiting an hour later. Advantages: loads of pools to choose from, good staff, cheap

...i went here a few years ago with my parents, brother and sister. the first thing i remember is that the canals in alcudia smell really bad at night! no reflection on the apartments, thats just alcudia! the actual apartments were basic self catering, clean and nice maids. there are a quite a few pools and you can use any you like, so obviously the kids love that. not too far to walk to the beach, and you can also hire bikes and take them outside the complex. the staff were really friendly and helpful, and the lifts and that were clean and always working - very unusual! alcuai itself is good for families, as its not too quiet but not like magaluf either! iwouldnt want to go now with my mates, but if i had kids i would take them there....
