Advantages: cheap rooms in london, good location Disadvantages: loud, staff not friendly
We stayed at the Clink Hostel for 3 nights in May. Rooms are very reasonable priced and you have a choice between
-single/double/triple en suite by room
-dorms from 4 to 16 beds both en suite or not
Booking is possible on www.clinkhostel.com and hostelworld.com - I heard it's also possible to do it via phone. Booking was quick and easy.
The location close to Kings Cross is great. Within Zone 1/2 on the underground it is easily reachable. At King's Cross you can get the following tubes: Northern Line (Black), Metropolitan Line (Dark Red), Circle Line (Yellow) and Hammersmith and City Line (Pink).
From the tube station to the hostel it's a 5min walk. WE found the hostel easy to find and the location quite central. The quick connection between King's Cross and Camden town was a huge plus point.
Plus points:
-free walking tour ...
Advantages: Cheap, clean rooms, excellent location, friendly staff Disadvantages: Check out by 10:30am, you have to make your own bed?
The Piccadilly Backpackers Hostel known on the sign as simply picadillybackpackers is probably the cheapest place to stay in London. (Excluding prostitute infested ?hotels? that charge by the hour in Kings Cross that is).
Located on Sherwood Street just one minute from Piccadilly Circus tube the hostel is right in the heart of London within walking distance of anywhere in the West End really and so close to the tube station if you need to go anywhere further a field you?ll have no problems.
Living 20 miles or so outside of Central London going into London at night always presents one inevitable dilemma ? racing to get the last train home and then occasionally missing it and being faced with two options. Sleep at the station and wait a few hours till the first train in the morning or risk getting an expensive minicab.
Well in ...
- or at least, that's always been my experience. It makes such a nice change to be able to go clubbing, wear outrageous clothes and jump up and down all you want without getting any unwanted male attention. No guys on the pull (or not ones interested in you anyhow) equals one hassle free evening, in which you can throw yourself around the dancefloor all night and not have someone try to stick their hand down your top. Plus - and any girl who's ever been to a club will know what a bonus this is - THERE ARE NO QUEUES FOR THE LADIES! Straight into the loo and straight out - an absolute first in my experience.
And there's no doubt that all of the above is one reason I had a great time at GAY last night. Not somewhere I'd normally go, I have to admit, since many of my gay friends are decidedly sniffy about it, but the trip was organised ...
