Do you like fresh air, mountain views, long walks or skiing then this is the place for you. Austria is one of those places which in many ways hasn't changed for years. The locals are friendly (usually) and very hospitable and the food makes an interesting change from your normal English style resorts. Its a great place for interesting soups - you probably would not believe the things they serve up in beef stock. And of course is a great place to get a Wiena Schnitzell (forgive the spelling!) If you don't much fancy mountains and fresh air then there is always the beautiful, historic capital of Vienna.

well, what you mentioned is the usual "Kitsch" idea the ordinary tourist has about Austria, but this is hardly of any help for people thinking about travelling over here, there is so much different scenery from the Bodensee to the Neusiedler See, there are so many different ways of vacationing from Mountain Climbing to Cycling, from Farm Holidays to posh city hotels in Vienna, Salzburg, Graz and Innsbruck, there is a significant Wellness tourism in our spas, there is skiing, skating and cross country in winter, there is golfing, paragliding, sailing, you name it...
