To those of you looking for a good value for money Carribean holiday I would not recommend Barbados. We'd been to other (cheaper) Carribean all inclusive destinations before including Dominican Republic & Cuba but wanted to pay a bit extra for a bit more luxury. In the holiday brochures Barbados seemed quite expensive, more so than some other Carribean destinations - hopefully that mean extra luxury? The overall holiday was great but I didn't think the extra we had paid was worth it. The quality of the Barbados holiday was similar to our other Caribbean holidays but it cost us a lot more & I must say I could not help but feel a bit cheated. I also managed to get Samonella food poisoning whilst there (thankfully the effects did not appear until after we got home!) maybe this adds to my opinion on Barbados. If we went to the Carribean again I would definitely try other cheaper locations before I would go back to Barbados. However, if money was no object I would definitely go back to one of the very high quality hotels.
