Brazil is one of the largest country in South America. It occupies nearly one-half of the continent. It has borders with ten countries: Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Uraguy, argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru and Colombia.
Brazil is the fith largest country in the world, the others in front being Russia, Canada, China and the United States. The area of Brazil is 8,511,966 sq km. The capital is Brasilia and in 1991 it was estimated that it's population was 1,841,028.
There are three big cities in Brazil Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. In São Paulo there are two main parts. The centre is a very rich and us the business centre for Brazil, however the outskirts are very very poor and is a big shanty town (favela).
The people living ther try to scrape a living by selling sandals(made of tyre rubber) or by begging and by many other ways. The families there are usually very large as they think that the more children that they have the more money they can make. Most of the "houses" are single storey and are made of corregated iron and maybe mud and bricks, they are all spaced very close to each other and disease is spread very quickly. It is a very bad existance for the people living there and it is very sad to think that people live like that.
Also covering a third of Brazil is the rainforest which is home to more than 50% of al the plants and different species of animals. Also there are small tribes who live there and are very clever in their ways in that they have mastered the art of making medicine from plants and working the rain forest to its full potential.
Unfortunatey there are loggers who are cutting the rainforest down for it's wood at the rat of the size of Wales a year. This means that many of the species of animals and plants are dying out. Also it means that there is no where for the tribal people to go. This means that many of the young tribal people are moving to the city in search o a more exciting life that they have heard of and soon they nor the rain forest will exsist.
Brazil is a very beatiful country but unfortunately many business men are exploiting and spoiling it. They have just come out of a ressesion and they're currency keeps on having to change as inflation keeps on rising.

I would like to have read this opinion if you had made it a bit more personal to your trip. We went here..., we found it like..., sorry but it sounds a bit like a text book. I'm sure there is loads more you could have written about too - Brazil is a big place!
