Five minutes down the road from Ayia Napa is the town of Protoras. This is a fab town with quite a nightlife of it's own. Plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from including the Only Fools and Horses bar which we loved. They are all reasonably priced aswell and everything is in walking distance. This resort is great for families too and has a lovely beach to sunbathe on in the day. If you want to venture out to Ayia Napa, it will cost you about a fiver in a cab. A great hotel to stay at is the Capo Bay hotel which is located right on the beach and is very luxurious. A little pricey but well worth the money. (Our friends stayed there and we were very jealous to say the least) And the diving is great. 'Andreas' runs a diving school which used to be located in the capo bay hotel but is now in the main high street in Protoras. You can qualify for your PADI license and go on many great dives including cave dives and an infamous wreck dive. You really do not need to go all inclusive to Cyprus as there are so many lovely, reasonably priced restaurants. I always thought Cyprus was expensive, but once you are there it is really quite affordable.
