If you would like to have many enjoyable, educational and different days out, and almost for free, have you thought about joining the National Trust? They are not completely free days out, because you have to pay your annual membership fee, and your travelling costs. However once you have paid your membership, you can then gain free entrance to literally hundreds of National Trust Properties, and you will know that your membership fee is going towards a worthwhile cause.
There is another good thing, that can almost be guaranteed. Once you have finished exploring whatever the attraction happens to be, there will be an excellent café or restaurant on site. They are all quite different, but in my experience, the food is going to be really delicious.
And, to me, that’s a good day out in itself!
