Florida. It can be the holiday you want. You just need to decide what you want.
Orlando is the theme park capital of the world.
Firstly thereare the Disney parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Blizzard Beach, Animal Kingdom,Typhoon Lagoon, River Country etc. You can spend at least a day at each park, two or three at the bigger ones.
Secondly there are the two Universal theme parks, these require at least a day, ideally two days and are in my opinion the best theme parks if you like thrilling rides, loads of water parks, Sea World and other attractions etc., Enough to fill a three week holiday without visiting Universal or Disney.
If you fancy a beach holiday then the Florida Keys offers some superb facilities with a superb climate and scenery.
If you fancy a fishing holiday the keys is also the place to go with some superb sea fishing on offer.
Perhaps Golf is your cup of tea. Florida offers some of the best courses in the states, the main reason (as well as the climate) that so many pro's are based there.
Surfing or sailing might be what you enjoy, so a holiday near the Daytona Beach area and a visit to Ron Jons Surf shop is definetly a must.
There are all sorts of accomodation available, from really upmarket hotels (even inside some of the Theme parks, to time share, motels, villas for self catering accomodation with pools etc.
Florida offers the independent traveller the opportunity to be as flexible as they wish. You can book fly drive packages which enable you to pick up the hire car at the airport and all you need to do in advance is book your first nights stay.
It is a really friendly place, the service and price in the restaurants is astonishingly good and virtuallt everywhere offers good value for money.
If you are happy to go out of season then there are some really good deals available ( but remember Hurricane season is Sep / Oct.)
