Hi :) I'm a 20-year-old girl from Germany and today I decided to visit YOU here at "Ciao-UK"! Ciao-Germany doesn't get boring or something like that, but some the other members already write & read here and I think it's a good way to confirm ones knowledge about the language, the people ...
1. GERMANY FOR VISITORS I've recognized that most people who visit Germany for their vacations normally visit some special regions: - Munich (ger: München) and the "Wiesen" (Oktoberfest) - Berlin (the capital) - Bavaria (and the beer :-) ) - Frankfurt (very much industry)
When I was in school we all got penpals from UK, and nearly everybody thought about beer und traditional music when we talked about our country. But Germany has more for you! In the winter you can go skiing for very cheap prices. I prefer the Alpin Region - and, of course, its beer :) But you won't get bored in the summer, because we have so many seas and other attractions. You can go for a walk in the mountains (alpin region), visit all the great parcs, get some very fresh air at the rural area ... Germany has attractions for everybody: no matter wheather you're young, old, traditional, modern .... you'll everything!
2. GERMANY FOR ME In Bayreuth (that's a little town in the north of bavaria, perhaps you know it from the "Wagner- Festspiele"?) I've been born 20 years ago. In the summer I'm always happy to live here because the weather is very fine and I can go swimming in a little lake near my house. But in the winter, right now, I want to go away from here! It's cold, nasty, rains all the time, ice & snow everywhere.. and- have I already said?- it's COLD!
But that's nature- let's go to the german people right now! Well, sometimes I really hate them!! You know, there a two types of german people: -> the nice one That's the man opening the door for you, giving you flowers as presents ... So, the "gold old gentleman". -> the silly one ...are of course the skinheads. Well, I don't think I have to tell you something about them - they're not worth it!
So, one is very scared if you take the "U-Bahn" at night because there can always be one of these silly persons attacking you. But not only skins- there are some other silly persons, especially old men, who think, that they have to take a litte girl and to make some "games" with here... you know what I mean... So nearly every week another girl is attacked by such a "person"....
But I hope, that this is not special for Germany!
3. SHOULD YOU VISIT US ?
I hope so :-) Germany is always very attractive to foreigners and not only in the summertime, when everybody visits Munich and its Oktoberfest... and of course its beer :) All in all Germany has very cheap prices - in the rural area! But in Berlin and München you pay and pay and pay and pay .... So if you want to spend your vacation at a place where you get fresh air, meet nice people, have a good time, do some sports ... the rural area of germany is the right thing for you!

Na also, good start, Mata! Und lass dir die Sache nicht vom unfreundlichen Franzmann vermiesen, dem ist nur noch nicht bewusst, dass wir in der EU alle in einem Boot sitzen...

Review of General: Germany
Advantages: A nice little town just outside Stuttgart that represents 'Real Germany' Disadvantages: The people that I came across spoke a lot less English than in Stuttgart itself
