Earlier last year I travelled to the Alps in Italy for a week of skiing. It was the first time that I had ever set foot on a pair of skis and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it.
When I first arrived I was amazed by the spectacular mountains with their white toped peaks and couldn't wait to get up on them. There was snow everywhere, it was just like Christmas.
The atmosphere in the small town in were I stayed was tremendous. The people were extremely friendly and were very welcoming to my friends and me.
The next day was my first day of skiing. When everything was settled about hiring equipment and meeting my instructor for the week we set of on the cable car to the top of the mountain.
I was quite surprised to see how sunny it was it was brilliant. I thought that it would be very cold and windy but it was quite the opposite.
After quite a few tumbles I learnt the basics of skiing and throughout the week improved from when I first started.
The whole week was enjoyable right from the start and I would recommend it to anyone!
