Airport Robertsfield International Airport is about 80 kms from Monrovia city center. It is recommended that you have someone your know receive you at the airport. A departure tax of US$20.00 is payable by all international passengers. There is another smaller airport just 8 Kms from the city center called Springs Payne Aiport and this is used for some West African flights and domestic flights.
Visa A visitors visa is required for all expect citizens of ECOWAS states (West African countries). Visas are issued by Liberian Embassies in the country of origin of the passenger. A valid passport and a return ticket is required.
Health A Health Certificate should be obtained and Yellow Fever vaccination is required. It is advisable that all intending visitors to Liberia should take anti-malaria tablets as a precaution before and during their stay in Liberia.
Climate Ghana is hot and humid. Average temperature ranges from 23-35 degrees celsius. Airconditioning is widely used throughout the year in hotels and restaurants. Rainy season in Liberia is from April to June and September to October.

Exchange receipts should be kept in case of inspection on departure. The present exchange rate of the Liberian dollar is:

Language English is the offical language. However visitors may have difficulty in understanding the English used as it is heavily accented. There are also over 10 other local languages spoken.
This was helpful only in that it provided information that could generally be found on a number of websites. As below, what are your personal experiences of visiting Liberia? What do you recommend or not recommend based on your own travels?

Dear Sir, I am sorry, but much of what you say is untrue. Perhaps if you were to visit Liberia you would find this out for yourself. Your essay is unhelpful to everyone, as it is incorrect in many ways. Yours faithfully, your friend, Grace
