Mauritius is surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The world's most beautiful hotels including the one and only, le touesrok rated by many holidays magazines as the best in the world, are found there. The island is surrounded by hotels, most of them rated five stars. The weather is the best you can get all year round. In summer, temperatures can soar to over 36 oC. Don't forget your sun cream. The ile au cerfs is a fabulous island next to le touesrok. It is definitely worth a visit. The yellow sand, blue seas. There are no sharks in the lagoons. About tropical diseases, malaria virtually does not exist in Mauritius. There are many activities to practice. Diving, underwater walking, surfing, deep sea fishing (the blue marlin, the world cup of marlin fishing is held in Mauritian seas), water skiing, parachuting, etc..... Kids love the place. About the people, almost everyone can speak English and everyone's friendly especially to tourists. There are many tropical fruits available, mangoes, longanes, litchies, ... There are no dangerous animals on the mainland of the island either. The only annoying insects are mosquitoes but you don't find them in costal areas. The food is outstanding and I'll advise visitors to enjoy the sea food. Be awarel of cyclones/hurricanes/typhoons/willy willys during November-March. (it's not common but happens once or twice a year, usually no one gets hurt during the process but you'll have to stay indoors). Check weather forcast on cnn or bbc world. Currency exchange £1= Rs 50. Designer labels are cheap, Mauritius use to be and is still quite influential in the textile industry. The country itself is quite developped and developping further. The main language is creole but as I mentioned many speak or mostly everyone can speak English fluently. Flight tickets are quite expensive during summer holidays (July-August), I would advise to travel in the winter holidays(Nov-Dec) to knock into the Mauritian summer directly for the burning sensation. There's so much I can talk about! Yes don't forget to visit: ROUGH SEAS Gris Gris, Souffleur, Poste la fayette
SANDY BEACHES Peyreybere Trou au Biche Mont Choisy Le Morne Flic En Flac Belle Mare Blue Bay
