Well i think this definitely has high competition with Sydney for the No. 1 city in Australia. I think most people worldwide with any sort of sporting knowledge, would agree that big melbourne is the best city for sport in Australia.... hold on... the entire world! The boxing day test match at the MCG with 100,000 other summery christmassy sunscreened aussies. The AFL grand final also at the MCG. Recently hosting the commonwealth games after already hosting the olympics in 1956. I can go on.... and i will, it hosts 1 of the 4 tennis grand slams... the australian open!!
However its not all sport sport and more sport. Melbourne also contains the set of Neighbours for which many british and other soap watchers will be most familiar with. The cutural side is also there; with melbourne inhabiting the second largest amount of greeks in the world behind Athens! Also Lygon st is the Italian quarter with soo many italian restaurants to choose from. Take your pick with melbourne... it is the perfect city... and only an hours drive to some of the worlds mos beautiful beaches!

Reviews need lots more info - see reviews rated 'Very Helpful' and you'll get the idea! As someone who hates sport, I'd like to know more about Melbourne than just what sports are played there, and in much more detail! I used to be married to an Aussie and he mentioned that Melbourne was a beautiful place.
