2 YERARS AGO VISITED THE COUNTRY AND TRYED TO CHANGE MONEY FOR A FAMILY MEMBER WAS REFUSED FOR THAT ANYWERE I WENT INCLUSIVELY THE BANK,ENDED UP ARRESTED AS THEY WHERE TOLD THAT ME AND MY PARTNER WERE TRYING TO CHANGE COUNTERFIT MONEY,AT THE END NOT EVEN AN APPOLOGIE I WAS SHOWED THE DOOR AND LET OUT,THAT`S TOURISM FOR YOU! NEDERLANDS JUST THE AEROPORT AND ON MY WAY TO SOMEWERE ELSE THANK YOU!MY ADVICE DO NOT TRY TO CHANGE MONEY IN SHOPS,NEWS AGENTS.IF ARRESTED AT LEAST MAKE SURE THEY KNOW HOW TO READ YOUR RIGHTS,IN GENERAL PEOPLE ARE NOT VERY FRIENDLY,HAD LUNCH IN A PORTUGUESE RESTAURANT THT WAS THE ONLY GOOD THING!MAYBE YOU CAN HAVE A BETTER EXPERIENCE ALL SITUATIONS ARE DIFERENT
First of all, With this kind of grammar and caps lock over usage I am bound to consider this offtopic ranting anyway. Also, the country has had a serious problem with the banksystem of SNS being hacked, so you could not even say 'False money' without getting questioned. its like saying you got a bomb 2 days after 9 - 11, people are on high alert. Most people are okay, you can change money at all the good points *-) 'het postkantoor'. Get in line, tell them what you want to withdraw, and they WILL help you, they are not allowed to decline without a good reason. Also, if I walk into the supermarket saying that I want to change some money for different ammount ( 1 euro coins for the vending machine, or 50 cent coins for the carts ) they will. I do not know how you met all the wrong people, but I assure you, that will not happen again.

Sorry you had this experience, but I can assure you it's not the general attitude here. I'm not Dutch but live in The Netherlands, as with the rest of the world - some folk are friendly, some not so..
Your review does not really tell anyone much about the Netherlands - this experience could happen in any country....
