I went to Pakistan in July/August time last year. It was such a fab experience as I got to meet all my immediate family there are get to spend time sight seeing all the natural beauty there is available. The weather there was absolutely hot! It made me sweat so much but because the area in Pakistan is not as damp over here and the summer weather is very warm, body odour is not a question. It doesn't even happen. You just sweat as if you are in a sauna. That saved my deodorant from being used up.
The currency in Pakistan compared to U.K. is approximately £1 is 100 Rs therefore things in Pakistan are fairly cheap. This gives me the advantage to spend a lot of money on clothes jewellery etc. I actually go crazy on shopping, I bought an artificial set which filled the whole of my neck and was a very traditional Pakistani style for only 200Rs that is £2. Even clothes in Pakistan cost from 50p upwards which is great/
Alongside this travel expenses are not high at all but the rush on vans and Lorries in horrendous. We have got a family car in Pakistan therefore I was able to drive wherever I wanted there. The petrol was very cheap, I think it was 5-10p per litre therefore I didn't feel guilty when I was joyriding. Once I went to fill my tank up with petrol, they even cleaned my windscreen for me, how good is that.
The food in Pakistan is very traditional and includes lots of spices, masala and a touch of their own specials. It was prepared very well in the hotels I went to and the service given was amazing. They even give you a gift hamper when you visit their restaurants (if you're lucky).
The Lahore kulfi is like an ice cream but made with real milk and nuts. It comes in many flavours and is absolutely delicious. It is sold in the UK but is very expensive to buy here; I ate so much in Pakistan.
The summer season is for mangoes. Everywhere you go you see mangoes on the stall. Even the air smell of mangoes (ok i'm going a bit too far). Well with the mangoes they make lassi which is a mango milk shake, it is usually served with crushed ice...mmmmm absolutely delicious.
All these things you could experience on your visit to Pakistan, bearing in mind the demand for tickets to go to Pakistan is very high so book in advance. The Lahore hotel is the best. I forgot its name but it is quite famous! Don't miss it.

Sounds similar in many ways to NW India (they have lassi there too; I just forgot to mention it), but I expect there are differences too. I'll have to go sometime. Duncan
