Writing from a different perspective, I went to the Seychelles as an older teenager for 1 month. I found the scenery and the beaches beautiful, and there are all the usual tourist activities, e.g - banana boat, paragliding. But after a few weeks if you can only afford to stay on Mahe (the main island) it can become a little boring. Although I had two friends with me and many of my relatives live there, this island is mainly suited to either couples, or older retired people. The town centre has a limited choice of goods, services and entertainment, but if what your looking for is somewhere to get away from western culture then this is the place to go. If you have the financial resources to travel to outlaying islands this makes the holiday much more interesting, because although you are going even further away from the 'civilised' world, you start to appreciate more what is here. The boat, or plane journeys to where you are going are in itself a holiday. But for all out 'fun' like you would find in say the Mediteranian I would not recommend the Seychelles, because of the reasons I have pointed out, and because of the sheer expense of the holiday. It's not just the hotels and flights that are expensive, it's everything.
