For our honeymoon we had a stopover of 4 days in Singapore. I had always wanted to go there. It even amazed me more when I set my eyes on this beautiful city. It’s one of the most modern and developed cities in the world. It’s mixture of occidental and oriental touch makes it an awesome place. It’s incredibly clean and organized. Littering is prohibited and enforced. You cannot even eat chewing gum since it is against the law. Regardless its people are really welcoming and will make your stay a really good one.

The city has the perfect size...everywhere is within walking distance allowing the visitor to walk everywhere. It is a very safe city. There are a lot of interesting sites and all you will need is a map and willingness :)

You can visit the Raffles Hotel, considered one of the best hotels in the world, it has a colonial style. You should wear long pants if you wish to enter the hotel though.
Orchad Road is an incredible street crowded with shops, coffee bars and the like. The new auditorium is an gigantic and modern building recently constructed. They say they have one toilet per every two people !???
At the Fountain of Wealth you can make your wishes and hope that they will come true. A little ritual must be done while asking for your wish.
A good night spot is Clarke Quay. You may have dinner there, enjoy the live music and have some drinks.

The variety in restaurants and food is fierce. You can get whatever you can dream of, from oriental food to European, from Australian to American… You will find whatever you want. Of course I’d recommend you to have Asian food all the time!

For you information we stayed at the Merchant Court Hotel, it’s not on the center of the city and thus a little cheaper. It is a very fine, smart hotel with an outstanding service and great food.

Definitely a place worth while visiting where I’d love to come back.
