Full review
Spain is the second biggest touristic destination in the world, just in the last year we received 40 million people (the same amount that the Spanish population), most of them came in summer attracted by the good beaches and climate, but there’s much more in Spain that I will write about.

I will try to do a virtual walk around all the states (called autonomic communities), with a special importance for those which are the most touristic.

Spain is divided in 17 autonomic communities that also are divided in provinces. This are the communities starting from the north-west to the south and later the islands.

GALICIA

It is the community where the rains are more often, but during the summer, it is possible to enjoy the beaches (which in my opinion are worse that the ones of the south), and many cultural places. Santiago de Compostela is a city you must visit if you are in Galicia, its cathedral is very important, there are many people who do “El Camino de Satiago” a pilgrimage of lots of kilometres.

Also La Coruña and Vigo are important cities, but they have a smaller touristic attraction, the Cíes Islands, are a very important ecologic place with special species.

There is a regional language called ‘gallego’ very similar to the Portuguese and Spanish, but everybody speaks Spanish, and I suposse that also English because nowadays who doesnt?..

CANTABRIA

It is a small community (it just has a province), and its most important city is Santander, it also has beaches that go to the Cantabric Sea, but as I say the northern beaches (like the Brithis beaches lol) aren’t really good. It has many natural places to visit.

ASTURIAS

It also is small like Cantabria, but it has two important cities, Gijón and Oviedo. It has a very good gastronomy, with a special importance for the ‘sidra’.

PAÍS VASCO

It is one of the most ‘conflictives’ communities because of the terrorism of ETA that wants the independece of the community. But it isn’t really worrying for tourist, because their horrible murders are directed to politicians most of them.

The best city in this community is San Sebastian, a really beautiful place, while Bilbao is also an important city.

They also have a regional language, the Euskera.

NAVARRA

It is a small community, with an important history, its important city is Pamplona, and the best time to go... in the ‘San Fermines’ it is a special party of some days from the 7th July with bulls and people who run with them. Of course, I don’t recommend you to be one of those who run because of security, because there’s always some tourists from the USA or Australia usually that result with casualties because of the imprudence.

Of course those days are the most expensive in the hotels, so if you are not interested in San Fermines, go in another moment of the year.

ARAGÓN

It has three provinces, although just one is interesting enough (in my opinion) because the others are more of rural tourism and so. The interesting city is Zaragoza, where the ‘Basílica del Pilar’ and the River Ebro are together to create a great scenic.

CATALUÑA

With four provinces, in its northern side you can enjoy skiing in the Pirineos, while in the south of Cataluña, where Barcelona is, it’s the ‘Costa Brava’ good beaches and a city like Barcelona where to enjoy of a good architecture. And here is the leisure park of Port Aventura.

ISLAS BALEARES (BALEARIC ISLANDS)

It’s meybe the most important touristic destination, but is needed to say that Ibiza is just a little island! I just say this because it seems that there are many people who think that all the Spaniards are from there lol. It’s a great place specially for young people, good beaches, good discos, as a result: unforgetable nights.

COMUNIDAD VALENCIANA

This coaster region has also so many places to visit, Benidorm and Valencia are the most touristic cities, but while Valencia offers a tourism of culture and beach, Benidorm offers a tourism of beach and discos mainly, similar to the tourism of Balearic Islands but cheaper. In Benidorm is the Leisure park of Terra Mítica.

MURCIA

It attractive points are the golf and the beach, but it is still far away from Andalucía in both.

LA RIOJA

It’s a small community without a very big attractive, famous because of their red wine. Its main city is Logroño.

CASTILLA Y LEÓN

It’s the biggest community, with a huge cultural heritage, but without a really good tourist attraction.

MADRID

Our capital city, a place where you can find every kind of tourism, it’s quite smaller than London, but it has many places to visit, from the Palacio Real (Royal Palace), Puerta de Alcalá (Alcala Door) to Museo del Prado or Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

CASTILLA LA MANCHA

It’s a big region but without so much interest if you don’t want to be just visiting churches and so...

EXTREMADURA

Like Castilla La Mancha, it hasn’t a so big interest, just the Roman ruins are really important.

ANDALUCÍA

It’s a mixture of everything, it’s the southest region in the peninsula, here you can enjoy of one of the best beaches, places to play golf if you are a fan of it, a great cultural heritage (mainly from arabic civilisation) like the Alhambra of Granada or the Cathedral and Giralda of Sevilla, both UNESCO sites, and even places to ski in Sierra Nevada.

ISLAS CANARIAS (CANARY ISLANDS)

Their good climate, great beaches and night life, makes the Canary Islands a good place to be in summer. Tenerife and La Palma are their most important islands. In Tenerife is the only volcano of Spain (inactive of course!) the Teide, which can be visited..

And here finishes this small tour by my country, I know my English is as bad as always lol but I promiss I’ll improve it!!
