My husband & I visited Geneva last month & loved it. It's just such a big city with so much to do. We went to the Reformation museum & Red Cross museum, but there are also art museums, a watch museum and others. Cathedral is worth a visit- we went to a concert in it which was a great experience. Also visited some sights to do with Jean Calvin the Christian reformer - such as the Reformation Wall. Went on a cruise on Lake Geneva which was lovely. Make sure you take a swimming cossie too cos at "Geneve Plage" there are outdoor pools and a section of the lake that you can swim in if you want. The tram is a good way to get around the city. A little further out are the alps which you can visit by coach. Hotels & restaurants can tend to be a bit pricey, but we stayed in "Hotel Central" which is reasonably priced and a nice hotel. Most locals in Geneva spoke English so it was quite easy to get by with minimal french language abilities!
