This hill resort in sharp contrast to other Malaysian hill stations such as Cameron Highlands, Fraser's Hill or Maxwell Hill, is not the place for eco or nature tourism. It is unashamedly given over to hedonist pursuits including gaming, theatre style entertainment, amusement and theme parks, indoor video games, and coin-operated games.
The Outdoor Theme Park offers heart pumping, high adrenaline rides such as the Corkscrew Roller Coaster, Cyclone and Runaway Mine Train. There is a well-landscaped artificial lake where boaters can paddle around to their heart's content.
In the Indoor Theme Park there is a huge variety of games as well as coin-operated kiddie rides and video games. Other attractions include the 2020 space Odyssey Ride, 3-D Fun House and Smash Factory. Tenpin bowling, snooker, and billiards is also an offer.

There is a wide range of accommodation to suit every budget and taste including the Genting Hotel, the Highlands Hotel, the Resort Hotel, the Genting View Hotel, and the attractive Awana Golf and Country Resort, where there is an excellent 18-hole golf course. A wide range of local and western cuisine is available in Genting, including outstanding Chinese food at the Genting Theatre Restaurant.
Buses and taxis to Genting are readily available from Kuala Lumpur. There is also the Genting Skyway which carries some 2000 passengers per hour; the cable-car system operates from Goh Tong Jah near Batang Kali with a stop at Awana before ascending up to the summit at Highlands Hotel.
Genting has a robust, garish, character uniquely its own and while it's not everyone's cup-of-tea, it is a good, cool, haven for gaming and entertainment and only one hour's journey from Kuala Lumpur.
Advantages: So much to do and you will never get bored Disadvantages: None that I can think of
Genting Highlands is one of the most famous integrated entertainment resort in Malaysia. It is located 58 kilometres away from Kuala Lumpur (only about an hour's ride) and as it is high up on the mountain, the air is cool and temperature is lower compared to Kuala Lumpur. There are a few hotels in the resort ranging from five star to budget.
Genting Highlands is a place for the whole family. So much to do and you don't know where to start. I would ... ...get there:
Express bus: Genting buses depart from 4 places in Kuala Lumpur. The most convenient for foreigners would be KL Sentral. KL Sentral is also the station for the Kuala Lumpur International Airport express train. Various ways to get to KL Sentral include LRT, KTM and taxi. There's a dedicated counter on 2nd floor of KL Sentral that sells the Genting bus tickets. The bus will take you to the cable car station in Gohtong Jaya and you will ...

Nowhere else in south-east Asia is the transformation from old to new more stark. Malaysia is split between the tribal jungles of Borneo and the hi-tech industries of Kuala Lumpur, home to the world's tallest building, the Petronas Towers. The holiday islands of Langkawi, Penang and Tioman are just off the mainland Peninsular Malaysia and easy to reach. The rest of the peninsular, especially Melacca, is also worth exploring. But don't get your highlands mixed up - Cameron Highlands is a relaxing, countryside retreat, while Genting Highlands is a brash and tacky gambling resort. Malaysia is a bargain for visitors. It is Tropical, hot and steamy. Monsoon rains hit different parts of the country at different times. ...
trecking. If you are lucky, you will get the chance to see Rafflesia flower! And if you want to see one of the extinct animal in the world, you should go to Sabah, where they have a safari for ORANG UTAN there.
If you are looking for ENTERTAINMENT in Malaysia, the most popular place is Genting Highland Theme Park. It's a little bit cold here, just around 19-23 Celcius i would say. There are Casinos, Game Arcade, Theme park and the scene is just breath taking! Lots of bars and pubs can be find in the central of the Kuala Lumpur City for night life entertainment. And the city will be full of colourful lights at night.
For SHOPPING, you should consider going to Midvalley Megamall, not very far from KL city. its a 5 km shopping complex, with leisure and dining choices. Has more than 430 shops on 5 and half floors! It also houses Asia ...

In 1997 my husband was offered a job in Terengganu, Malaysia. We were very lucky to be able to spend several years in a location that most people dream about. We had a penthouse apartment overlooking the South China Sea and the nearby resort hotel for leisure and entertainment.
The Awana Kijal Golf and Beach Resort can be found at the edge of the Malaysian kampong known as Kijal. This is in the state of Terengganu on the east Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, roughly opposite Kuala Lumpur. The nearest large town would be Kuantan, in the state of Pahang. I think that the hotel opened in 1995.
The hotel itself is owned by the Genting Group of Companies, a Malaysian conglomerate specialising in the retail and leisure market. There are other Awana hotels to be found in the Genting Highlands, (outside KL) and on the island of Langkawi ...
