In the heart of Reading town centre the lies an absolute hidden gem.
Situated on the high street and surrounded by modern shopping, bars, restaurants and nightlife lies a small courtyard fronting what is believed to be the oldest building in Reading.
This 15th century coaching inn with its Tudor stylings has now been modernised into a stylish hotel with a cosy bar and restaurant.
Comfortable rooms provide somwhere to rest your weary head after an evening of fine dining at one of Readings incredible restaurants (The London Street Brasserie is just round the corner and Jamie Oliver is opening his Italian a 5 minute walk away)
The room was spacious, clean comfortable and great value with breakfast included. The service of the staff is fantastic with everything you would expect from a good hotel.

Whilst visiting friends in Lydd in Kent, we stayed at "The Georgehotel" a large hotel built in a very small town.
When we went to the hotel, you can feel the characteristics and you can see some original features, we paid before we took our luggage up and the prices to stay for a double room is £45.00, a single room is £25.00, win is £45.00 and a room for a family of 3/4 is £55/£60.
You can also have the choice to have breakfast there which was from £3.50 - £6.95 and of course you can't stay at a hotel without having there fry up!!

We had a double bedroom with a TV and DVD player, tea and coffee ...
Advantages: Comfortable, historic hotel Disadvantages: Bar shuts too early!

As the Manics are a band that seem to be constantly on the verge of retirement, you don't like to miss an opportunity to see them live, so I booked the Reading concert.
Over the years, I've decided my least favourite aspect of going to concerts is travelling home afterwards - ever since my sister threw up in the car somewhere in Somerset on the way back from the Newport leg of Radioheard's Big Tent Tour. So I decided to book a hotel, and I decided I wanted a NICE hotel.
The GeorgeHotel is apparently the oldest building in Reading. It's incredibly easy to find, right at the heart of the town centre, and about a ten minute walk from the train station. From the outside, it looks like some ...
