Advantages: Unusual, interesting place with lots to do and see. Disadvantages: Having to leave at the end of the day!
...as many times as you want. Well worth the price.

Advantages: Good food, pleasant staff and good prices Disadvantages: the ghostly feeling
...Whilst visiting friends in Lydd in Kent, we stayed at "The Georgehotel" a large hotel built in a very small town.
When we went to the hotel, you can feel the characteristics and you can see some original features, we paid before we took our luggage up and the prices to stay for a double room is £45.00, a single room is £25.00, win is £45.00 and a room for a family of 3/4 is £55/£60.
You can also have the choice to have breakfast there which was from £3.50 - £6.95 and of course you can't stay at a hotel without having there fry up!!
The staff showed us our way up to our room, the place felt very strange and weird.
As you walk along the narrow hallway on the top floor it was creaky and dim, you can even see that the flooring was slanted, it looked very spooky to me.
We had a double bedroom with a TV and DVD player, tea and coffee...

Advantages: On The Beach Front. Disadvantages: Can not predict the weather.
...The GeorgeHotel is the equivilent of The Dorchester in London. The atmosphere is great. The food in the Dining Room is excellent, so do try it if you get the chance. The Brassery is also very good.
The staff can not do enough for their guests. Anybody visiting the I sle of Wight should just go for lunch if they can not stay in the hotel.
We were lucky enough to have breakfast deliviered on the balcony of our room. The waiter visited us as often as he would have done, had we been in the Brassery.
The quantity and quality of the food is second to none. All rooms are well presented and clean, try to get a balcony room if you can....

When I read "Flaubert's Parrot" I vowed never to read a book by Julian Barnes. I hated the boring and seemingly random sequence of anecdotes about a writer who should have been interesting but, somehow, was reduced to commonplace and humdrum.... more
