Perfect! Not too many people, free food and drinks included

Advantages: Free drinks untill you can't walk anymore! Free food as much as you want and of course skiing!
Disadvantages: The food was a little bad. The last hours the track was very icy and melting

We had a great day yesterday! It's NOT expensive! 39,90 in the weekend and 29,90 in midweek for as much food and drinks and rental of the board/skis. There's no time limit! The food was cheap but good. They gave us enough free drinks for 2 out of 5 to get so drunk they where not allowed to ski any more for the last hour. We went on Sunday and the last hour we where the only people in the ski hall. 19200 square meters of snow all for yourself.. At ...

Man's inhumanity revealed

Advantages: Contemplation, modern history
Disadvantages: Can be a depressing place

...web site mention of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. From my dim & distant past, there were always 2 names that stuck out, Auschwitz and Belsen - horrible appalling places, so I guess out of curiosity, I decided to visit Belsen. *** What is it *** Bergen-Belsen is one of the infamous concentration camps from the 2nd World War. Initially it was built to hold French & Belgian prisoners of war, but gradually as the war took hold it expanded. ...
...mass killings. Inmates were moved by train from other camps to this one, and forced marched the 7km or so from the railhead (which is still there) *** Where is it *** The site is located in Germany just off of the B3 road from Celle to Hamburg, it is one of those sort of places where you really need a good map! There are some quite discrete white signs pointing in the general direction. If you find the small town of Bergen, you are about 5 ...

The work of August Macke in a nutshell

Advantages: A good selection of Macke's work; not expensive (can be free)
Disadvantages: Better if you understand German

...I’m pleased they did because August Macke is one of my favourite artists and certainly deserves a place for his work to be exhibited. This lovely Classicist style house, built in the 1870s, also houses a museum that puts into context the life of Macke and the artists working around him. It is the house where Macke painted over 400 pieces and worked until his untimely death in 1914. He was born, however, in the Sauerland region of Germany. His father ...
...moved to Cologne shortly after August was born. Initially Macke produced work influenced by the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists and later, on meeting Kandinsky, became a member of the Blaue Reiter group. By 1912 he had discovered Cubism which profoundly influenced his work. Around 1914 he visited North Africa with the Swiss artist Paul Klee; the paintings he produced in this period are my favourites, so colourful and imbued with warmth and ...

Excellent circuit

Advantages: fast makes your pulse race
Disadvantages: none

One of the longest circuits in use, Hockenheim has double character; the stadium with its terrific atmosphere, and the long fast charge through the forest. Chicanes have been added, but this is a very fast and exciting circuit, demanding also in terms of car set-up. Hockenheim was first used for racing in 1939, then little more than two straights coupled by hairpins. Subsequently revised, to present configuration, but then chicanes added in an effort ...
...safety, prior to the entry into the twisting arena section. This course is my best because in many PC, Playstation games i always go on this track it is so fast it make you want to go back for more. This track was also where i first started to watch F1 and i have always enjoyed watching people race on it. tahanks for reading. ...

The Disney Castle

Advantages: Lovely place
Disadvantages: No

...partly because Walt Disney used Neuschwanstein as a skeleton when designing the Sleeping Beauty castle. Personally I know of this castle for ages-I've seen it in photos, in puzzles etc-going to there is like my dream has come true!! Set in the middle of a forest of firs and pines, the castle overlooks the surrounding Lake Forggen and mountains-a pretty gorgeous scene. Since it was winter, all we saw around the castle was forest covered in snow, ...
...very stunning view. King Ludwig never lived in the castle and the decoration were not finished at his death. Everything is still fairly new in the caslte. Only a few of the state rooms are available for visitors such as the throne room and the music room, with romantic decorations that are typical of the King's style. When I was in the castle, the rooms were so beautiful that it didnot feel free. The walls are full or pictures of well known legends, ...
