How would you?

Advantages: (+) many methods of transport available
Disadvantages: (-) rush hour and car parking prices all add up!

...really tight with money, so getting a bus stuffed full of people when I could walk there for cheaper seems much more appealing to me!

*****Bicycle*****

Most entry routes in to the town have cycle routes whether this be from Loose, Ashford Road or Ringlestone. Some are a long side the road on pavements with pedestrian/ cycle sections. Others are on the road and some are separate from the road and are overhead bridges. ...
...main town centre is not specifically designated for cycle lanes. I don't ride my bike, purely for the reason that I can walk there in no time at all but many people do!

*****Car*****

There are many car parks;

-----Medway Street Multi-storey-----

Which has many disabled spaces and has recently made all parking spaces very wide. This is the cheaper of the three.

I feel a bit stupid all dressed up in my glad rags but after 7 o'clock Arriva do a "happy hour" where you can go anywhere for a pound. The bus service is very good and frequent and most buses take you to the Chequers centre (shopping centre) which is right in the middle of Maidstone and next to the highstreet (where it all happens!) For further info on buses ...
...as a last resort. Getting around: Maidstone is not a huge town and most places can be got to on foot. There is a Town Hall visitor information centre on the high street so they will point you in any direction you want to go. For planning in advance they can be e-mailed on tourism@maidstone.gov.uk or rung on 01622 602169. Always useful! Again there are the options discussed above but it is easier to walk. Going home: Again bus ,train, car! Buses ...
