Full review
I went to Barcelona two summers ago. It's quite a few years I wished to spend there a few days and then I got the chance and I went there for a week.
It was the first week of August, so there were a lot of tourists and people everywhere, however it was not so difficult to move from a place to another and to enter the places... Only Picasso's museum was impossible to enter if you weren't there before the opening hour because the queue was infinite.

There's a lot to see in Barcelona, a lot of styles mixing together: from gothic(in Barry Gothic) to modern stile of the first 20th century…
I wished to visit Barcelona above all to see Gaudi's works. I was with a friend of mine and we set in a cheap 3 stars hotel near Ramblas in the centre of the city.
We found good weather, not so hot to be in august, and was perfect because we had to walk a lot. Barcelona tubes are easy to find but there's not a good linking from place to place like it could be in London or Paris, everywhere you go you have to walk a bit before you can arrive to your destination and this could be a disadvantage if you have little time and want to visit all you can…

So, the city is very beautiful and particular. You can easily talk English with everyone and there's a lot of guide that speak it perfectly.

Our first destination was the Barry gothic, the central district in gothic style where you can visit an enormous cathedral. The district it's not too large and you can easily walk around it, there's nothing so special however. It is near the Ramblas so it's not difficult to reach, you can use the underground.

But let's come to the most important steps of the visit… I just mentioned I like very much Gaudi's works… Well you can find a lot of them in Barcelona: Sagrada familia, the Battlò and Mila house, Palacio Guell and other more…
I liked very much Battlò house, it's one of the first building in modern style. Gaudi studied each particular shape of the structure, modelling it as it was alive… Near the windows there are columns bone shaped to maximise their static function.
Walking around it is like entering in a dream, shapes, colours, all is full of passionate work of a brilliant mind.

Mila house is not so spectacular on the external face, but in the interior side, it's very functional and there are two patios with wonderful frescos that reminded me Monet.
Sagrada familia is a spiritual shrine, studied in each part, in each particular… It's not complete and maybe the construction will last a lot of years because the founds are taken from visitors entrance ticket. I recommend you all to visit the edge of the tower, reachable also with the elevator…

Barcelona is a place full of colours and full of warmth. Everyone is very kind and tent to start chatting. I also visited the Picasso museum and Mirò foundation… I didn't like so much this two museum, above all because I don't like the two artistis, if you like them then you'll find a lot of works.

We went also to Montjuick where you'll have a complete see over the city, the Catalana Music Theatre, a really beautiful building and a lot of park such as Park Guell where there are more Gaudi's works. It's very interesting to see and also relaxing, even if you'll have to walk a lot to reach it from the underground stop.

I really had a good time there and I wish I'll come back one day, also to see how the Sagrada familia progress.
Lot to see, places to relax, cultural places and also places to have fun. In the evening the city takes a new life and there's a lot of people in the streets… Pubs and restaurant are full everywhere and you can't just get bored.
