Advantages Advantages when it works, it's fast and efficient

Ahh, The Tube. If you live in London and you don't have a chauffeur driven car, a wage that can pay for billions of taxis or an expense account as long as my arm, you're likely to find yourself clattering along on this thing at some point. It is the fasted and most efficient way to get around London. Most of the time. The tube runs a very comprehensive service throughout Central London, and then spiders out to the suburbs and even into neighbouring counties. There are an ever-growing number of different tube 'lines', each recognised by their colour on the map. Currently, they are (and I hope I ... more

The Tube is the commonly known name for the London Underground. It is a system of mostly underground trains that run through the city. It goes out as far as Heathrow Airport on the west Side and as far as Upminster on the east side. There are 17 different lines on the Tube map and they each have their own colour so you can easily identify each line and where you want to go. Advantages Advantages Quick and convenient way of travelling through London

Disadvantages Disadvantages The trains are often dirty and can get very hot and are jam packed during peak hours

I haven’t lived in London for donkey’s years, but I still occasionally use The Tube, as the London Underground is affectionately known. Hold on. Affectionately? Does anybody actually hold any affection for the network of tunnels that run beneath the surface of our capital, or the rolling stock that runs through them? They’re over-crowded, far too warm and stuffy (the temperature in the tunnels is about 10 C higher than at ground level), and the views are pretty dire. In central London, all you’re likely to see is the dark walls of the tunnels, although if you’re ... more

Using the London Underground could only really be described as an ‘experience’. I doubt anyone would/could find any other form of public transport like this one. Although I don’t live in London, I have used the Underground on a fairly regular basis for many years, so hopefully can offer you some sensible advice on how to make the most of your journey. ** The London Underground comprises a network of thirteen different railway lines which run across the length and breadth of London. Each of the lines has a different name in order to identify the different routes more easily ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Busy Times, Can cause problems in the summer due to high temperatures or too much people,

** UPDATE - This is just a little update well a warning if you have asthma or any other crampness or hotness affections than my advice is not to travel in the tube. Temperatures rise very high in packed trains so if you do have asthma than it will cause problems it is better off travelling via other transports. Also the free newspaer called METRO is available at most stations and keeps you entertained while on the tube. END OF UPDATE** If you are like me, and you do not have a car and you want to travel around London with an alternative route. Well then the next best thing to a car is getting ... more
