The Metropolitan line is ideal for people living on the outskirts of London who want to get into central London with minimum hassle. However, once you reach Kings Cross you'd be well advised to switch lines for destinations in the city's centre. From Kings Cross you can easily get to popular places like Covent Garden and Leicester Square on the Piccadilly line - excellent if you want to do a bit of shopping! Or take the Northern line to get to Bank where you can take the Docklands Light Railway (well worth it for the experience of travelling in a computer controlled train). Just make sure you know which tube will take you to your destination as the layout can get rather confusing at times!
