Advantages Advantages Great metro service, beautiful city to explore on foot,

Disadvantages Disadvantages Perhaps more difficult for disabled people, busy busy busy, lots of sellers and beggars, STRIKES

Trying to find your way around any capital city is no mean feat and forward planning is always advisable. So I hope to be able to share some of my knowledge of getting around Paris, having spent 9 months living there and having visited on numerous occasions. BY AIR: -One great way of seeing any city is from the air, and it is possible to take helicopter tours over the city. They're pretty pricey though - one quote I found was €250 for adults, €220 for children. Flying is also a popular way of getting to Paris. Paris has three airports - Roissy Charles de Gaulle, Orly and Beauvais Tillé. * ... more

4 Stars Cheap lowbrow tour in a Day! Review with images 30/03/2009
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Fun, makes you want to go back

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be tiring, still quite a lot of walking

Paris is a magical city, with inspiring imperial and modern buildings and a fabulous central river heart. However for those with a limited attention span; keen to avoid long walks or highbrow culture there still is a reasonable way to introduce the magic and so pave the way for a future return using the integrated transport options which abound in this city. Parking I would recommend that you don't even think about driving or parking in Paris. Whilst there are obvious car parks signposted, the traffic is a nightmare and the manners non-existent. It makes central London feel like a picnic. With ... more

Advantages Advantages Seeing all the key things and exploring everything in between

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None at all!

Paris is one of the greatest cities in the world and there are so many things to see and do. I prefer to walk around the city and there are many walks that you can do that encompass many of the main sites. Here are a few of my favourites: Towers and Museums; Eiffel Tower to Pont Alexandre III The first thing you think of when you're planning a trip to Paris is the Eiffel Tower. It is visible from almost all parts of the city, but is not really in walking distance from the centre. The area around the tower is an obvious tourist trap, overflowing with over-priced cafes, people selling tacky ... more

    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Courteous drivers; Easy to use municipal hire scheme

Disadvantages Disadvantages Sometimes velib 'stations' are full (or empty)

(originally written for citycycling.co.uk, a recent trip to Paris was made even better by discovring how easy it is to cycle around, especially with the aid of the fantastic 'Velib' scheme) I love Paris in the spring time I love Paris in the fall I love Paris in the summer when it sizzles I love Paris in the winter when it drizzles I love Paris every moment Every moment of the year I love Paris, why oh why do I love Paris Because my Vélib is here Okay, so Cole Porter is probably spinning in his grave right now, and I'd have to admit that a recent trip to Paris had more to recommend it than ... more

Advantages Advantages easy mean to move trough Paris , quick, efficient

Disadvantages Disadvantages somestimes crowed , doesn't always smell so good

So as to continue my set of opinions about Paris, I’ll talk you about the way to get in and around Paris. To do just like inhabitants, the easiest way is to use public transports. They are really developed In Paris and it’s the cheapest way to move in Paris except if you prefer walking. To travel in Paris you’ll need to buy tickets, the cheapest way is to buy a “ carnet” of ticket, a “carnet” is a pack of ten ticket, it cost 9,30 euros almost 6,3 pounds. A ticket cost 1,30 euros a piece, almost 85p. In fact if you stay a while in Paris, you should buy a pass that would allow you to use every ... more
