I went to paris with my fiance on a weekend break, we had very little time to do ample amount of stuff. We didn't have a car, so we neede effecient means of transport that would be cost effective. And as if heaven sent, we discovered the Metro! This is the BEST means of transport you can use to get around Paris. Not only is it cheap, but it is fast,clean and comfortable-( if you can get a seat).We hardly spoke a word of french but we found it very easy to buy the tickets, get to the right places, at the right time and return safely. There are times when the metro does get crowded, and you cannot get a seat-so avoid the rush hours. Another good advantage is that the metro goes by every 10 mins so you don't have to wait long for it and the trains are signed very well so you will not get on the wrong one. The metro also runs 'till late so you can experience the night time of paris and still be able to get back to your hotel. All in all it is Great- Loved it!
