Not so great for shoppers.

Advantages: Good for residents.
Disadvantages: Park and Ride expensive.

In 1994 a new method of transport was opened in Sheffield. This was the Supertram system. Costing over £200 million of government money this system was to revolutionise the public transport system in Sheffield. For the people of Sheffield I am sure the system has provided a fast and reliable service in and out of the City centre. On our many visits to Sheffield we have always been dismayed at the expensive cost of the car parks in the City so on ...
...Ride system using the trams. After leaving the M1 motorway we followed the signs for the Park and Ride site and were surprised to be within sight of the City centre before following the signs back away from the City to the car park. As we entered the car park we saw that the cost of the Park and Ride was £3. However, when we went to pay we found that this only meant tram travel for the car driver and the other members of the family would have to ...

Sheffield - something magnetic in all that steel

Advantages: Lovely people, pretty city, student bus passes
Disadvantages: bus drivers! The road system in town centre!

, The Phoenix on Derbyshire border Best quiet area: The peace gardens (but not on a day where there is any kind of sunshine ? as it turns into a dry lido ? with everyone gathering around the fountains ? the closest they can get to a beach in Sheffield. Also, Western Park. Best club: Gatecrasher @ The Republic (Sat)/ Stardust (60s/70s/80s) @ Hallam Union (Fri)/ BusStop (70s) @ The Roundhouse (Sat) Great place for students ? Ecclesall Road area, Broomhill, and Abbeydale Road are big student areas. Rent is approx £40pw in most student accommodation. Beware ?Champs? (bar) on Ecclesall Road on a Friday, Saturday or pretty much any night of the week ? it?s usually completely snarled with people. Lovely people, great atmosphere, lots of places to pose looking expensive, beautiful surrounding countryside ? Go and move there immediately!!! ...

Review of Sheffield in general

Gate crash the party at Republic

Advantages: choice, GATECRASHER, cheap nites
Disadvantages: queues!!!

get in at £3 NUS or £4 others. --------Saturdays-------- One word. GATECRASHER. This is the crown jewel for the republic. Thousands of clubbers from around the country flock to Sheffield to see the finest in Dj talent. It is not out of place to see people getting turned away at 11pm such is the volume of people that go to Gatecrasher. If your tight on the pennies then don't bother coming cause it costs £12.50 for NUS and £15 others. Top dj's Judge Jules, Scott Bond and Matt Hardwick are residents but don't be surprised to see Carl Cox, Tiesto, Timo Maas or Seb Fontaine there either. The music is classicly hard dance and trance and the dress restrictions are tough. No Rockport, Timberland or Kickers are allowed along with heavy labelled YSL, Ben Sherman or ralph lauren. The queues that are fore mentioned are massive so get there at about ...

Review of The Republic, Sheffield

Hassle free travel around Sheffield

Advantages: fast, reliable, safe, cheap, near everything
Disadvantages: some routes illogical and impactical.

trams operate from around 6am to around past midnight. On Sundays services start around 8 and finish around midnight on the blue and yellow routes and start around 10-11 and finish around 5.30-6 on a night. I hope that you have found this review helpful and in conclusion would like to say that the SuperTram is by far the easiest way ro get around Sheffield without the hassle of driving. ...
