The Restaurant offers an "All you can Eat" buffet with approximately 35 items to choose from each day. The food changes each day so you may not get the same thing to eat on any two visits. There are two price categories - Lunch and Dinner.

They offer not only Nepalese (Ghurka) meals but also Indian, English, Chinese, Thai and Singaporean. The menu consists of main course and starters, soups and salads. Everything from Prawn crackers, Momocha (Nepali steam dumplings), Onion Bhajis and Thai Fish Cake as starters to Sweet and sour chicken, Ghurka Curry (Lamb) hot, Chicken Tikka Masala to Thai Green Beef Curry as main course. Plenty of salad and sauces to complete the meal. There is also a childrens menu as well as a large range of vegetarian items available. Our Experience *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
We have visited the restaurant a few times now with guests or friends who are looking for something different. I like Indian food whereas Pete likes Chinese so this is the best place as it accommodates both our tastes.
On entering the restaurant you are greeted by one of the friendly, helpful staff who escort you to your table. The last time we went we were given a table in a raised Bay window area. Closed off from other diners and more private. The restaurant is decorated in burgundys and golds and has Nepali music playing softly in the background. You are given your drinks and then told to get your food at the large buffet. The choice is great and the food is always fresh and hot. They only place small amounts in the containers and as they get to a certain level they refill them keeping everything fresh and moist rather than dry and warm that you usually find in some buffet restaurants. The owner and staff are always walking around asking if you are comfortable and if everything is fine. As soon as your plate is empty it is removed and you are urged to go back to the buffet area for a fresh plate and more food. I can only go back twice at the most and so can Pete but we have had guests who have managed 5 times!
The food I had the last time we visited was gorgeous - I had Chicken Korma (with a thick coconut and cream sauce. The chicken just melted.), Ghurka Chicken Curry which was mild but the spice was still there, Aromatic Duck (not your usual little strips either - great chunks) and Poppadoms. Not a great choice you may think but a small portion of each of these is enough to fill me. Pete tended to stick to the Chinese and had Beef in Black Bean sauce, Stir fried noodles, Crispy seaweed, then Chicken Korma and his favourite the Ghurka Lamb curry. At the end of the meal the owner came around with a lolly for each of the children present. Dessert is a choice of 6 "fancy" Ice creams at £2.25 each or 3 scoops of flavoured ice cream for £2.00. Dessert is not usually needed after you have eaten here
It is licensed and a variety of beers are available as well as the Ghurka / Khukiri Beer and other Oriental beers. We tend to stick to Orange and lemonade though so cannot even give you an idea of how string the Ghurka beer is
In my opinion this is one of the best restaurants we have ever visited (and we do like to go out to eat as often as we can) They give brilliant value for money and the choice is fantastic. With so many people having different tastes this solves the problem of where to go - everyone has their likes in front of them. They even have an English Carvery Buffet on Sunday only
You have to make at least one visit here when you visit Blackpool.

Advantages: Reasonably priced, nice staff, nice food and friendly atmosphere. Disadvantages: Poor decor a bit dull, drink prices expensive.
We first went to the Ghurkha restaurant because my husband and I were searching for a place to go for my best friend's birthday. We wanted somewhere that offered all you could eat and there are a few to choose from in Blackpool. I had sampled one or two but, when I came across the Ghurkha restaurant on the internet when performing a Google search I thought it looked good enough to try. I obviously felt a little sceptical when we reading about the ... ...go to eat. I have a sensitive stomach and I didn't want to become ill from eating the food there, but I thought I would give it a try. It definitely looked interesting with all the different types of food offered. I felt a little sceptical and unsure that it was good enough for a party so I thought I'd try before we invited a party to eat there. It was also a good excuse for my husband and me to get some quality time together.
The Ghurkha restaurant ...

...with my brother and three Ghurka lads, that was my first experience of these amazing people. Years later I was serving in the British Army and was fortunate to be taking part in a 3 day race in the Cumbran marches in Wales. Apart from being possibly the most disciplined soldiers I've ever come accross, the food we sampled of theirs on the side of the mountain was extraordinary and really hot. It wasn't until years later after I had left the Army ... ...A few pints of the Ghurka beer in the bar then onto the Restaurant side. I can only say that the experience and the diverse tastes from Nepal to China and every where in between was absolutely fantastic especially the Ghurka Lamb curry, it took me back to the side of that mountain in wales all them years ago. I come over to Blackpool regularly to visit friends who live there and we always visit the Restaurant. I think we were some of the ealiest ...

Quick review of Ghurka resturant
We were told to try Ghurka resturaunt by our hotelier when we stayed in blackpool in march, it was our friends wedding anniversary so we wanted something a bit different than fish and chips on the front. We were not dissapointed it was absolutely fantastic, the choice was great, i love the starters i could just eat them, but i did manage a little of the main courses to and they were yummy. We will be back in blackpool in a couple of weeks and are planning another visit, can't wait, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. ...
