I recently visited Gibraltar so see some family members. I think is place is less interesting than it used to be.
One of the usual selling point is that Gibraltar is like Britain but with better whether. There are a few UK shops such a Safeway and Marks & Spencer. However, I think the place has developed into a bit of a theme park.
It is worth visiting Gibraltar for cheap duty free goods. However, keep in mind that the use of Sterling there means that prices are not really competetive with Spain which is in the Euro zone. This is due to the current exchange rate. This means that only tabacco products are significantly cheap.
It is worth going to Gib on a day trip but for longer periods there are other more interesting places.
