Amazing Airport Accommodation Advantages: Very convenient for the airport, New, Stylish, Comfortable Disadvantages: The breakfast could have been better ...reservations about staying in the Ramada Jarvis Glasgow Airport. I had stayed in airport hotels before now, and in my experience they were generally built to be functional rather than welcoming, as guests only ever stayed one night on their way to or from a flight. They tended to be noisy places as well, with the sound of flights taking off and landing (and often heavy traffic) intruding during your stay. In short, they were places you only stayed ... ...is just too dangerous. Ramada Jarvis provide a courtesy shuttle bus for guests to ferry them on the 500m journey between hotel and airport, though – you just need to give them a ring from the free phone inside the departures building. If you happen to be driving on the other hand, then I am reliably informed that you need to take junction 28 off the M8, from where the hotel is signposted, and park in one of the abundance of free spaces right outside ... Top Hotel at Excellent Prices Advantages: Great Food, Family Friendly, Relaxed atmosphere, Great Value. Disadvantages: Not very appealing from the exterior The Glasgow Swallow is a well equipped comfortable and friendly Hotel, located a short distance outside the city centre but in an area with some of Glasgow's best attractions. It is an excellent choice for families and great value for money. I have been to the Swallow in Glasgow with my family many times. From the outside the hotel is quite unimpressive, inside is a different story. It is well decorated and well laid out. As you walk in the door ... ...Food Breakfast at the Swallow is brill. You have a choice of fruit juices, buffet style fry up and choice of cereals and pastries. You go to the dining room where you will be shown to your table. Waiting staff will be with you in a few moments to ask if you would like tea, coffee or toast, which arrives hot fresh and quickly. Small and cosy rooms and value for money Advantages: cosy, clean Disadvantages: small rooms I usually use the Holiday Inn Express hotels during my various personal visits around the UK. My wife and I used this particular Holiday Inn Express in Glasgow last year in November during our visit to the City. I found the hotel very cosy and the staff very friendly. We missed the breakfast as we had overslept but were able to get a nice midday meal at the adjacent cafe. The rates are very affordable and definitely great value for money. However, ... FOUR STARS! Advantages: Modern, clean and warm, ideally situated for various entertainments Disadvantages: Hellish parking! ...Glasgow. The Novotel was easy to find, situated as it is at 181 Pitt Street, which is within walking distance of Sachiehall Street. Unfortunately, we were driving and driving in Glasgow is a challenge to be met only a few times your life. We were trapped in a one-way system with diversions in operation which didn’t really help with our quest to get to Pitt Street. On the sixth go round, we threw caution to the wind and did a quick U-turn when the ... ...To sum up: The Novotel is ideally placed for those just passing through (Central railway station is 3 kilometres away and the airport is 12 kilometres away). If you are driving, be advised to phone reception first to check on parking facilities/availability.
