Heaven at Devoncove Advantages: Cheap, clean, good service and delicious breakfast Disadvantages: Bit of a walk from town centre ...found a page about The Devoncove Hotel. We typed in the dates and type of room we were looking for and found that the price was one we really liked so after a quick look at the pictures of it and some reviews on other sites, we decided to go ahead and book. *What It Has* Now as we were only staying for 2 days we didn't really use many of the services available but for those of you who are looking for special services then the list is pretty ... ...on Sauchiehall Street. The Devoncove is on the corner of the 3rd block along and the parking is down the side of Derby Street. The hotel is about 2 miles from the centre of Glasgow but there are bus stops just outside the hotel and you can buy cheap all day tickets if you are going to be heading into town a lot. Be aware that after a certain time at night these buses stop and night buses take over. Disgusting Advantages: central glasgow Disadvantages: everything else! Definitly the worst hotel i have stayed in in my life time. Luckily we were only there for the night. The pictures on the website looked fine but when we arrived and got to our room it was awful the room stank of damp, the wallpaper was peeling off and there were a few holes in the walls as well as a picture of a naked woman drawn on the door. The bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom disgusting. cheap hotel in glasgow Advantages: - Disadvantages: -- ** Argyll Hotel Location/Getting there This hotel isn't dead central in Glasgow as you have to walk for quite a while down Sauchiehall street but it is a great budget hotel to stay in if you are planning to go to the SECC.They even have maps to help you get from the hotel to the SECC and it only takes about 15 minutes to walk it. Reception/staff The hotel isn't that glamourous or anything but the staff are always very helpful and ... ...which is nice instead of having a scowling member of staff. Hotel/Room Pretty much every time i have stayed in this hotel i have had the same room.Its pretty standard as rooms go .It is always very clean and tidy,it has a kettle and some biscuits.The shower is okay.They always give us plenty of pillows . A GREAT SCOTTISH WELCOME Advantages: peace and quiet Disadvantages: quite a way from city centre I visited the Ewington on business in 2001. There were seven of us altogether - myself and my husband and five other staff members - both men and women. My husband was the designated driver for the weekend trip though he wasn't employed by the company I worked for. He was "employed" for the weekend only - his shortest ever job I think! We were given a variety of rooms depending on who was sharing with who. My husband and I had one of the larger suites ... ...given the choice between The Ewington and a city centre hotel I would definitely choose The Ewington. i cant give it 0!! Advantages: none Disadvantages: none * Mclays Guest House* Location/Getting there This hotel is located close to Sauchiehall Street, Argyll Street and Buchanan Street.It can still be annoying to find though as it is up a side street and along a bit.From the outside it doesn't even really look like a hotel.The street is rather small and near a school so it might be difficult to park there Reception/staff Staff are not that friendly ,it feels like you are a inconvenience ... ...Check in took ages as we had to wait for them to stop chatting (they could see us) and then they had a problem with their computer.
