An excellent location

Advantages: Prime location, good facilities and friendly staff
Disadvantages: Not a very nice building from the outside, a bit drab.

The Thistle Hotel has an excellent City Centre location right next to Glasgow's famous 'Sauchiehall Street'. We found the secure underground car parking facility a definite advantage also, due to extremely high City Parking costs (£4 for 2 hours). The hotel itself was spacious and comfortable with an inviting reception hall, immaculate rooms and a well equipped gymnasium complete with pool, relaxation area and sauna. The staff were helpful and chatty ...
...a doorman 24 hours to heighten security and provide a friendly face at all hours! The food was also fantastic, and there was a relatively good room service menu for your night time hunger pangs! Very good value for money and , being just off the M8, is very easy to reach. ...

Amazing Airport Accommodation

Advantages: Very convenient for the airport, New, Stylish, Comfortable
Disadvantages: The breakfast could have been better

...reservations about staying in the Ramada Jarvis Glasgow Airport. I had stayed in airport hotels before now, and in my experience they were generally built to be functional rather than welcoming, as guests only ever stayed one night on their way to or from a flight. They tended to be noisy places as well, with the sound of flights taking off and landing (and often heavy traffic) intruding during your stay. In short, they were places you only stayed ...
...is just too dangerous. Ramada Jarvis provide a courtesy shuttle bus for guests to ferry them on the 500m journey between hotel and airport, though – you just need to give them a ring from the free phone inside the departures building. If you happen to be driving on the other hand, then I am reliably informed that you need to take junction 28 off the M8, from where the hotel is signposted, and park in one of the abundance of free spaces right outside ...

Murder And Mystery At The Buchanan Arms

Advantages: Close to both Glasgow and the Trossachs National Park; an amazing murder mystery night
Disadvantages: Hotel is currently in administration (but luckily still trading!)

The Buchanan Arms is located in the village Drymen, approximately 14 miles from Glasgow, in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. It is a former coaching inn, and although the bar dιcor harks back to these origins; the hotel itself is thoroughly modern. It boasts gym facilities, swimming pool, a sauna and even a beauty salon. The rooms have a distinctly Scottish feel to them – as well as tea and coffee, guests are provided with shortbread ...
...a fairly bleak day weather-wise, the room felt very cosy and inviting, and we had a great view of the surrounding countryside from our window. We had a dinner as part of a murder mystery event at the hotel. Guests witness a short sketch, a murder is announced, and the characters head off to investigate while everyone else heads to dinner. The actors then join you at the dinner table, and we were given the opportunity to interrogate all the players ...

Our suite wasn't that sweet

Advantages: Great quiet location
Disadvantages: Uncomfortable bed

I booked a suite at Malmaison as a surprise for my husbands 30th birthday. It was also the first time we had been away from our two small children so I was looking forward to something really special. We were shown to our room, number 121, which was quite dark but did have a separate sitting area with a television. Most hotels that I have stayed in, including Travellodges, have superkingsize beds but the bed at Malmaison was a standard kingsize. ...
...side for a suite in a fashionable hotel. My main complaint was the firmness of the mattress. I was awake for ages in the night unable to get comfortable and ended up wakening up more tired than I was when I went to bed. All-in-all we enjoyed spending a night away from the children in Glasgow but would think twice about our choice of hotel if we were to do it again. I was surprised that upon leaving the receptionist didn't ask whether we had enjoyed ...

The Bestest Place To Stay

Advantages: Friendly Staff, The Right Atmosphere - infact just perfect - oh and only £90 per room per night
Disadvantages: erm........erm.......I'm thinking......erm.......erm.....well the tissues were a bit hard on the nose....

...you completely cold. The Langs Hotel in Glasgow is nothing like that. Sited next to the Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow City Centre, it looks like nothing from the outside, but step inside and the place is just a den of luxury. Step up to the reception desk, share some informal banter with the lass behind the counter, oh and steal a chocolate from the massive box she's just been given by the satisfied couple who were just leaving when you came in. ...
...abode. A massive Queen Size bed - trust me I'm big and this was enough for three of me - a hi-fi, a Playstation, all of the Sky channels, Oh and a superb power shower, great for turning the missus on with stray jets that appear to come from nowhere on the wall :-) The veiw is a bit dodgy. An old concrete car park made the scenery pretty dull, but still I could easily check on the security of my car, and lets face it there aren't too many pretty ...
