An excellent location

Advantages: Prime location, good facilities and friendly staff
Disadvantages: Not a very nice building from the outside, a bit drab.

The Thistle Hotel has an excellent City Centre location right next to Glasgow's famous 'Sauchiehall Street'. We found the secure underground car parking facility a definite advantage also, due to extremely high City Parking costs (£4 for 2 hours). The hotel itself was spacious and comfortable with an inviting reception hall, immaculate rooms and a well equipped gymnasium complete with pool, relaxation area and sauna. The staff were helpful and chatty ...

* A Great City Centre Hotel *

Advantages: Location , rooms ,
Disadvantages: expensive , weird food

...i know it's good) The Park in caught my eye because behind the reseption desk there is a water fall that changes colour , everytime I walked past this hotel I wanted to stay there!! ~*Location*~ it's 30 seconds from Glasgow bus station , not kidding you can see it from your window !! Very Central ~*The room*~ The room was lovely. The Ensuite had a cool jet shower.one thing is part of the bathroom wall was made of glass blocks which I found ...
...and you can see right in! ~* Extra Informatioin*~ This hotel is a 4 start hotel and it's part of a chain. Room service was good , but the food was a bit fancy for my liking. They had a resturant and a spa / sauna , the sauna was in the upstairs of the resturant , which is a little strange. ~*cost *~ cost me and my mate £60 for the one night , but we did have £25 off it due to using the hotel club so it is usally a bit more expensive than that. ...

Small and cosy rooms and value for money

Advantages: cosy, clean
Disadvantages: small rooms

I usually use the Holiday Inn Express hotels during my various personal visits around the UK. My wife and I used this particular Holiday Inn Express in Glasgow last year in November during our visit to the City. I found the hotel very cosy and the staff very friendly. We missed the breakfast as we had overslept but were able to get a nice midday meal at the adjacent cafe. The rates are very affordable and definitely great value for money. However, ...

FOUR STARS!

Advantages: Modern, clean and warm, ideally situated for various entertainments
Disadvantages: Hellish parking!

...Glasgow. The Novotel was easy to find, situated as it is at 181 Pitt Street, which is within walking distance of Sachiehall Street. Unfortunately, we were driving and driving in Glasgow is a challenge to be met only a few times your life. We were trapped in a one-way system with diversions in operation which didn’t really help with our quest to get to Pitt Street. On the sixth go round, we threw caution to the wind and did a quick U-turn when the ...
...To sum up: The Novotel is ideally placed for those just passing through (Central railway station is 3 kilometres away and the airport is 12 kilometres away). If you are driving, be advised to phone reception first to check on parking facilities/availability. If it is a particularly busy time of year you might have a big problem, particularly if you are disabled in any way and cannot walk too far. Best option would be to park in a secure parking area ...

Sex In The City Inn

Advantages: Good facilities, excellent breakfast, well-run establishment
Disadvantages: Dinner menu is expensive

...in Glasgow, staying at the City Inn. I don't know if our Karen has ever been to Scotland? The purpose of this op is to outline our stay at this hotel thereby giving you an impression whether you would like to stay here or not? WHY WE CHOSE THIS HOTEL? Our travel operator for this trip was British Airways Holidays. I am sure that cheaper options would be found by more research on the Internet. But we have travelled with BA Holidays before and feel ...
...4 hotels and selected the City Inn from Ciao reviews. PRICES The cost per night varied from just under GBP 100 to just over. Breakfast was included with our package. Otherwise it would have cost around GBP 12 per person every morning. LOCATION The hotel is located at Finnieston Quay, just on the outskirts of Glasgow city centre. We took a taxi from Glasgow Airport to the hotel and the fare was around GBP 21. The journey took about 30 minutes. ...
