value for your money

Advantages: good location for access to city centre
Disadvantages: no car park

Recently stayed at this premier travel inn while in town for a concert. i found the location ideal and the hotel was clean and tidy.there is a bar at the hotel and it is certainly good value for the money we paid for the room and we took up the £20 meal deal offer which got us a 2 course dinner plus a buffet breakfast the next morning which was an all you can eat style buffet, so you wont go hungry. the only thing that was a little bit annoying is ...

Review of Premier Travel Inn Glasgow - City Centre (Charing Cross), Glasgow

An excellent location

Advantages: Prime location, good facilities and friendly staff
Disadvantages: Not a very nice building from the outside, a bit drab.

The Thistle Hotel has an excellent City Centre location right next to Glasgow's famous 'Sauchiehall Street'. We found the secure underground car parking facility a definite advantage also, due to extremely high City Parking costs (£4 for 2 hours). The hotel itself was spacious and comfortable with an inviting reception hall, immaculate rooms and a well equipped gymnasium complete with pool, relaxation area and sauna. The staff were helpful and chatty ...
...a doorman 24 hours to heighten security and provide a friendly face at all hours! The food was also fantastic, and there was a relatively good room service menu for your night time hunger pangs! Very good value for money and , being just off the M8, is very easy to reach. ...

A good base for a night out on the town

Advantages: Location, price, efficient and friendly service
Disadvantages: No hotel car park.

*** Booking *** I wanted a twin room in a hotel that looked easy to find, was close to nightlife and wasn't a complete dump i.e. 3 stars plus. A hotel for a one night golf getaway with a mate is a bit different to the sort of hotel you may want to book with the wife or partner. The typical one night golf stay follows this format: 1 - argue over who has which bed, 2 - change, 3 - go straight out, 4 - get back and fall onto the bed covered in kebab ...
...into the bathroom turning every light in the room on accidentally, get shouted at by other person. 6 - get into bed, 7 - what seems like 2 seconds later wake up, realise you are going to miss your tee off time, 8 - panic. In the interests of our budget I emailed the hotel manager to ask him what was the best deal he could do for us. His assistant manager replied pretty quickly and offered us a twin for £79 for the night, no breakfast. This didn't ...

Wonderful William Street

Advantages: Excellent food and service, spacious room, great facilities, very close to all city centre
Disadvantages: expensive

...I ended up at the Hilton hotel on William Street. To get to the hotel from Glasgow airport is a £17 cab ride and takes about 25 minutes. On arriving at the hotel my first thoughts were grey looking tower block of a hotel facing the motorway and an area of patchy development land. So that didn’t bode well. However within minutes of getting out of the taxi and walking into the lobby I started to think the interior definitely had more to offer. Check ...
...me as I thought the Hilton corporate colours were blue. On opening the document I saw that they would have delivered me breakfast up to 10.30am, afternoon tea up to 5pm and then the rest of the menu after that time. On offer were: Sandwiches, all of which apparently came served with savory crisps and on a bread of your choice. Options included: Roast Beef with English Mustard £7.45 Hot peppered steak ciabatta with red onion £12.95 ‘Isle of Mull’ ...

Right next door to the airport

Advantages: Very close to the airport, good customer service
Disadvantages: Nothing major

...typical 1970's concrete hotel block. Holiday Inn is clearly marked in large green writing on the top. All in all, a pretty standard airport hotel. Walking in to the lobby I was pleasantly surprised to see a low ceiling, cream coloured paint and a red tartan carpet. When I arrived it was a very cold evening so it was nice to walk into a bright, warm lobby. Checking In: Checking in was very quick and easy, I was given my key card and away I went ...
...rates Obviously I wasn't paying but I did check out the rates. Booking directly with the Holiday Inn you can expect to pay £120! Or you could shop around and pay around £60. The bottom line: A fine hotel, perfect for an overnight stay to catch that early flight ...
