Maybe I'm a bit biased, but Glasgow is one of my all time favourite cities.
Not as upmarket as Edinburgh, Glasgow doesn't have itself a huge castle, but it does have Buchanan Galleries!
Glasgow's big strong point is definately the shopping, but it has quite a lot to see and do as well. Kelvingrove Museum, the Museum of Transport, People's Palace and the Hunterian at Glasgow University spring to mind.
Even for those that aren't interested in museums, Glasgow University is a good place to visit for its fantastic architecture alone. It also has (in addition to the Hunterian), an art gallery, McKintosh House, a zoology museum and a rather interesting anatomy museum.
The Barras is an interesting place to visit and shop, and there are plenty of theatres and restaurants around Glasgow. The SECC usually has some good events on, too.
Glasgow isn't a particularly expensive city, although it does tend to be rather cold and wet.

Sorry for the low rating but I felt that there was so much more you could have said about Glasgow, such as where it is, how to get there, what the shopping's like, restaurants etc! Let me know if you add more and it's not just cos I am from Edinburgh! Love Louise
