Go is the offshoot 'budget' airline from British Airways (although not for much longer as they are trying to find a buyer as I type!). Like Ryanair and Buzz, they operate out of Stansted, which has certainly come into its own as an base airport over the last few years.
I've travelled with Go, well, quite a few times, on the London/Bologna, London/Rome routes, and London/Venice. (Gosh, I never realised I'd flown so much till I started writing these opinions!).
Go is a budget no-frills airline. These basically means the flights are cheaper and you don't get food included. Seems like a fairly reasonable trade-off to me!
Go, unlike Easyjet and Ryanair, allocates seating at check-in, which makes the process of boarding the plane a little more civilised and rather less scrum-like.
Like most of the budget airlines that run on tight schedules, lateness can be an issue. It's happened a few times with me, that the planes have been late, although, to be fair to Go, twice, that was due to air traffic control strikes in Italy (whose air traffic controllers seem alarmingly prone to strike at strangely inconvenient times - usually just before weekends when the weather is nice.. oh, maybe I'm being just a bit too cynical now!).
To be fair to Go, you can really only judge an airline as being very different from another by the ways it deals with adversity, and although supplying all the passengers with a bus from Bologna to Venice (because it was only the Bolognese who were striking!), wasn't the most convenient of trips, the staff did keep everyone informed well, and were very professional.
On the flight itself, the staff have always been very good. The sandwiches and coffee are hideously overpriced. They have quite a good inflight magazine (as far as an inflight magazine ever is) in that it gives some interesting info about the places that they fly to.
The flights are geniunely cheap and they come up with offers occasionally which are almost too good to resist (oh, that's it, my lack of willpower - that's why I know these routes so well!).
I've had a few return trips to Bologna for about £50 rtn, but have paid as much as £120 rtn for Rome (I needed to go on a specific date etc).
Again, they don't always fly into the larger airports, for example, they fly into Rome Ciampino, rather than Leonardo da Vinci, but the links are good, if not better in some ways, and they lay on their own bus for the passengers into the centre of Rome.
For some reason, Go, always seemed to be one of the nicer 'budget' airlines, and is more expensive than Ryanair - but then, they are all more expensive than Ryanair, still if you're lucky, book far enough ahead, and there's an offer on, you can get extremely good deals.
It is easy to book over the website, you will get a choice of whether you want the itinery sent to you by post or email, and the whole operation, is, on the whole, extremely smooth.
At the moment, they run routes to southern Spain, Palma, Ibiza, Tenerife, a few flights to Italy, Milan, Rome, Bologna (seriously underrated, good access to Florence - try it!), Venice, Naples, some routes to Germany, and domestic flights. They also established new routes last year to Prague and Reykyavik, being the first budget airline to cover these routes.
In all, I'd gladly fly with them again.. and again.

Hi there. Although very good, you could have done with more details about staff, the quality of the food and perhaps a comparison with BA. The thing is you don't say you haven't tried the food which normally suggests you have, so is it good or bad? And also, some destinations and their fleet? Cheers... *danieletheridge*

I have read overall very positive opinions on GO and having read the company's profile, backed by BA, you really cannot go wrong, I will defintely try them next time. Out of the "budget" airlines I have used "Buzz" and had an excellent service, but what less can one expect overall its operated and run efficiently by KLM! informative opinion, one I will be trying out later! thanks
