I went on holiday for the first time to Varca Beach in December 1999. I loved it so much that I'm going back again this year. If you're after a relaxing holiday with wonderful Chinese and Indian food, an amazing, clean, white sandy beach as far as the eye can see in either direction then this may be the place you've been looking for. there's a quite large town called Margao which is just a bus ride away. Everything is very cheap and the people are immensely helpful and friendly. I felt at home straight away, except it was better at home. In early to mid December the weather is just right and it's still quiet season so the hotels haven't hiked up their prices. There are a range of places to stay to suit all budgets, from guesthouses to 5* resorts with pitch & putt courses and large gardens. If you're a fairly laid-back and adventurous type of person, you'll love this place.
