Panjim is a state (2001 provisional population = 1,343,998), about 1,430 sq mi (3,700 sq km)in size, situated in West India, on the Malabar coast. A former Portuguese colony and Indian union territory, Goa became a state in 1987. The capital is Panaji (Panjim). The chief products are rice, cashew nuts, and coconuts.

Must visit:
- Old goa - Conquistadors and Cathederals (a bus journey away)
- Anjuna beach
- Banbolim beach (a bus journey from Panjim and a long walk down unmade road. Beautiful beach, very private, well worth it.)
- Late night cruises on the river
- Panaji municipal market - for all those bargains

I stayed at hotel Manvin's, Municipal Gardens, Church Square only a few minutes walk from the centre of Panjim. The hotel boasts:
* Restaurant
* Car Parking Available
* Internet Access
* Laundry
* Airport Pick Up
* Bicycle Hire
* Wheelchair Friendly
* Linen Included
* Credit Cards Accepted
* Bar
* Towels
* Luggage Storage
* Children Friendly
* Telephone/Fax Facilities
* 24 Hour Reception
* Travel Desk/Travel Info
* No Curfew
* No Lockout
* Lift / Elevator
* Bike Parking
* Free Car Park
They will also bring food to your room if the restaurant is closed. There are lovely views over the river and Municipla gardens.

An interesting review - not somewhere I'd heard of before. Welcome to ciao :-)

Hi and welcome to Ciao. There's some useful info here, but it would really be improved by a more personal touch: what you thought of the place, any interesting things that happened to you while there. This would give readers a much better feel for what to expect if they went there. Hope you enjoy the site. Duncan

Hello and welcome to Ciao - like sandemp says below - there isn't much in the way of your personal opinion/experiences of Goa. Ciao is all about writing reviews on what YOU think of a product/place and your review is a bit too much of a list, which could be found at any travel website. If you decide to update, do let me know (via my guestbook) and I'll come back and rerate for you. Lexy
