I felt obliged to write this review having nearly been put off going by other picky small minded people, we have just returned from a 5 day break at the Golden coast park, Woolacome we went along expecting not a great deal after the reviews on here.

When we arrived at the place, unfortunately we had been allocated a caravan which was not to the higgest of standards and certainly not somewhere I wanted to spend my time in (my advice would be to upgrade in advance), never the less we were more then happy to pay the extra and upgrade after all we had only paid about £67.00 for the holiday so far, booked via The Sun newspaper, so we went back to reception and very politely asked if there was a possibilty of upgrading, we were advised we could upgrade for £62.00 to a lodge which we looked round before commiting to, as soon as i walked though the door i could tell it was a world away to the caravan we d just looked at i think there was a few other s doing this too as a few more moved in to the surrounding one s after us and told us there were originally allocated a caravan.

Anyway lodge we had was nice lamanate flooring, newish sofa, good kitchen and ammenities nice carpets in the bedrroms and decent furniture, yes it was nt the ritz but come on no where like thats going to be is it? anyone expecting more then that is deluded and on the wrong holiday, we had 3 very spacious rooms considering there was only 2 and a half of us and we all slept in the same room, my three year old boy slept in a single we put in our room just so he felt safe.

The bathroom was standard with just a shower so my son had to have sink washes but not to worry it s only four days in effect, the kitchen had a washer with built in dryer which was so handy and the central heating was fab, really snuggly.

The facilities on the park were also spot on, the swimming pool was clean and well kept, the bowling alley and the childrens soft play area were also entertaining along with the evening caberat and childrens entertainment especially the guy who did the bubble show putting children inside bubble etc. My son did not want to come home and we were not even in the height of the season which all the facilities available!

Not to also forget Waves cafe who provide a great service and something really creative to do on your holiday, we ended up having a bit of a " who made the best plate competition" this in my opinion is a must do, they even wrote to me at home a few days after our stay to say Id left my scarf behind which (would of only cost a tenner at most) to say could i contact them to confirm its mine and they ll post it to me, how nice is that!

I cannot understand anyone grumbling about the place there s plenty to do and plenty to see around and about, it was rather miserable weather when we stayed, but only what we expected in the middle of october. I think people have to be open minded about what to expect for the money you pay.
