Advantages: Good breakfast, fluffy soft towel, location, helpful staff Disadvantages: Rooms need revamp, rooms hot, beds uncomfortable, slow Wi-Fi, on many levels
We stayed in the Best Western LionHotel for one night on 19th Jan 2008 as we were attending my Aunt & Uncles 50th wedding anniversary party in the nearby Shireoaks Inn. The reason we chose to stay at the Lion was mainly down to its proximity to the Shireoaks (just round the corner) and because we had stayed at Best Westerns in the past and found them to be very agreeable. Also the same day as we got the invite to the party we received an offer from Best Western in the post for up to 50% off stays in January and February. We decided to upgrade to an executive room (wasn't my decision) and this cost us £73 including breakfast instead of £53 for the standard room with the offer. We booked online via the Best Western website.

Stayed to this hotel for weekend during the summr.
I booked it on the internet. It was a last minute decision.
I found the hotel had all the facilities I required.
The room was small but clean and conforable. The decor was ok. The room had tea/coffee making facilities.
A clean shower, plenty of towels.
The TV was abit basic but you could watch all the basic channels.
The restaurant was open and inviting. The food good if a little basic.
The bar area was fine and the bar snacks ok.
I found the place had entertainment a singer but I returned back too late to hear him.
When I went it was a quiet weekend I think as everyone seemed to have gone to bed by 11:00pm. I did nottice at breakfast this hotel semed very popular with an elder clientel.
Breakfast was a help yourself affair.
The staff were all very helpful and accomodating ...
Advantages: Cheap, presentable hotel, good location Disadvantages: Soulless, very noisy from outside
Jurys Inn, Leeds is a reasonably priced hotel that is a 10 minute walk both from the train station and shopping centre of Leeds. We stayed here one weekend in August 09 and it cost us £60 per night for a room with a double bed and a sofa bed (though it would have been squashed with 3 of us).
We found the hotel clean and presentable, with reasonable facilities, but very soulless. The staff were polite, although reserved rather than warm. It is part of a chain of hotels, and I got the impression that probably every other hotel in this chain is exactly like this one.
Checkout was at 12, though you could extend this (at a price). The facilities in the room were fairly standard for a budget hotel chain - there was a fair selection of tea and coffee, a desk with internet connection point, a television with more channels than we could hope to ...
