We discovered Golden Sun Holidays in 1999 and had to take the brochure to the travel agent to ask them to check that there wasn't a misprint on the prices to Skiathos - there wasn't - we went two years running, in June, for a fortnight to this beautiful island for £249 each! We had good standard basic self-cateringaccommodation each time and would recommend Golden Sun to anyone who likes a traditional Greek holiday at a bargain price. They do two weeks for the price of one in most Greek self-catering accommodation right up to the middle of July and then again later in the season. They know Greece and Cyprus well and can keep overheads down as opposed to the larger operators who offer holidays to multiple destinations.
One constructive criticism would be the calibre of their reps. Mark, the first year made every effort to be helpful - if he didn't know something, he would find out. However, the second year we were landed with a different fellow - hopeless!! He gave a very bad impression of the company, evem to us. He was just conspicuous by his absence, our Welcome Meeting was a disaster and he didn't bother to attend the next one! First-time Golden Sun travellers were appalled and unlikely to use again - marketing/ publicity opportunities lost here. Also, they lost a lovely property in Agia Pareskevi to an operator who hiked the price nearly double the following year.
We would actively try to choose another Golden Sun holiday in future.

Advantages: Um, sunshine - no thanks to Golden Sun. Disadvantages: Cut two days off our holiday, no information, no customer care, misinformation at best. Appauling service. No compensation as yet.
