After paying £350 for two weeks in the Virginia Studios, Kavos, Corfu, we expected to go away, have an excellent time and come back with a fab tan. Not the case. The Golden Sun brochure stated that the accomodation was basic and this we accepted. What we could not accept was that basic also seemed to mean dirty. When we arrived, the shower floor was covered in mud, the apartment floor was dusty and the fridge had someone's old nasty plaster stuck to the front of it! We went straight into town to find the rep to ask to change accomodation. She rambled on about how everywhere was booked up and then started trying to sell us trips. Typical, money first, customer satisfaction second, she had her priorities sorted. The brochure also stated that the apartments were 'set back off the main road'. From this we were aparently meant to know that the access was via a dirt track, covered in rubble and bricks! Very convienient for when your trying to get home after you've had a few to drink! We also complained to the rep about this and her reply was that she knew how she felt cos she lived in an apartment next to ours! That didn't help us much though did it. We tried to get a complaints form off her, only to be fobbed off with 'I haven't got any, they're in the office, I push one under your door tommorow'. An then we began to understand the saying 'tommorow never comes' as we didn't receive one the next day, or the day after that , or the day after......... I asked her again for one and she used the same excuse. I finally got one a week into the holiday by going down to the office and refusing to leave until there was a complaints form in my hand. On the second day in the apartment, the wardrobe door fell off. The rep ensured that she would get the handyman out to fix it later that day and that she would come round to make sure it was done. 9.00pm that night and still no handyman, or rep of course. The work finally got done 3 days later and the rep still never showed up.
Finally when the day had arrived for us to leave hell, we were told that our flight was at 9.15pm. We had been informed only a week before we left that the flight had been changed to 12.15pm. Needless to say we weren't impressed. We were again fobbed off with the fact that it was out of their control and I was spoken to like a 5 year old. The reps were so patronising it was unbelieveable.
If you want a good holiday with 'the servive of a Golden Sun representative' as promised in the brochure, then don't book with this company, you won't have any service whatsoever.
Lets just hope that they reply to my complaint letter within the next 10 days or I will be complaining through ABTA!

I'm sorry to hear that your Holiday was terrible. Is this
an "appointed" Travel Agency? If it is take your problems to them and they should get some or all of your money back.
