...Many of you who might have read some of my previous opinions will be aware that I travel to West Africa quite frequently and one of the destinations that I visit most is Accra in Ghana. When travelling to Africa in general one of the most important decisions you must make is the hotel that you intend to stay in. You need a place that provides you with comfortable rooms, clean food and water, entertainment and security. My hotel of choice is the Golden Tulip Accra Hotel. This hotel is part of the Golden Tulip chain of hotels. Golden Tulip hotels enjoy a high reputation throughout the world. More on the Golden Tulip chain later in this opinion. Advantages: Beautiful flowers, working restored windmill, proximity to Pacific.
Disadvantages: Poor parking.

...The Queen Wilhelmina Tulip Garden clusters around a restored windmill at the foot of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. It\'s a wonderful formal garden to explore and enjoy, and if you\'re lucky, you\'ll encounter one of the gardeners there. They are usually very helpful and friendly. So friendly, in fact, that if you talk to them at the right time, they will tell you when the garden becomes a treasure trove. Every year, when the tulips have finished blooming, the gardeners dig them up for new plantings. They are never left in the ground for the next year, as tulips don\'t naturalize well in California. Rather, they are taken from the ground, and given away to the lucky gardeners who come to the site during this time. Advantages: In easy reach of town centre, staff very friendly & helpful, Clean
Disadvantages: Surrounding area a bit industrial

...I chose to take my boyfriend to Amsterdam for his 21st birthday but all the hotels in the City Centre that were in my price range had awful reviews, then i came across the Golden Tulip in Zanndam. Although it is not in the city centre it is so easy to get there from this lovely hotel it's worth the extra journey to stay in a much nicer hotel. The train station is right next to the hotel (although there is no noise) and it is only 2-3 Euros return. We used to go out in the morning, come back late afternoon and then head back out in the evening and never found it a problem catching the train. It was also very easy to catch the train from the airport to the hotel. The staff at the hotel are lovely and the room very clean and in a very nice condition.
